St. Stephen's Day

In Poland, December 26 marks St. Stephen's Day, locally referred to as Drugi Dzień Świąt.

This date commemorates the life of Saint Stephen, recognized as the first Christian martyr, and serves as a direct extension of the Christmas season. The holiday is classified as a statutory public holiday across the country.

Consequently, government offices, banks, and schools remain closed, while most commercial retail establishments and businesses are restricted from operating on this day.
